WALL TO BE DISPLAYED LOCALLY
American Veterans Traveling Tribute wall comes to
Murrysville Community Park for five-day stay in October

For five days this fall, an 80-percent replica of the
Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall located in
Washington, D.C., will be at Murrysville Community
Park in Export.
Members of the community and other visitors will have
the chance not only to pay their respects and honor those
who died in the war, but also to learn more about what hap-pened
in Vietnam and the sacrifices made by U.S. soldiers.
The American Veterans Traveling Tribute wall will be open
to visitors beginning Wednesday, Oct. 10, through Sunday,
Oct. 14. The park is located at 4056 Wiestertown Road.
“It’s an awesome responsibility and we consider it a privi-lege
and an honor,” said Pastor Dan Lawrence of Murrysville
Alliance Church. “We’re not Vietnam vets, but we’ve been
given that responsibility to honor them and do the best we
can to show respect and welcome home any of the Vietnam
vets who come.”
Lawrence played a major role in bringing the American
Veterans Traveling Tribute wall to Murrysville. His dedication
to Vietnam veterans in general stemmed from his participa-tion
in a motorcycle ride called “Run for the Wall.”
Lawrence was first invited to take part in the ride, which
