The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is a model for 21st century liberal arts education and is a Pitt regional campus with a national reach, a global impact and a distinctly entrepreneurial heart. We combine “big school” resources with the immersive experiences, personal attention and spirit of exploration associated with a small liberal arts college. We call that winning combination Pitt to the Power of One. Our students can earn a renowned Pitt degree that is recognized by employers nationally and globally and leads to sustainable careers. Apply today when you visit www.greensburg.pitt. edu. Saint Vincent College will open the $5.3-million James F. Will Engineering and Biomedical Sciences Hall as an extension of the Sis and Herman Dupré Science Pavilion in the fall. The building will house a human anatomy laboratory that will serve not only pre-med students but those pursuing study in integrated sciences and in the biomedical sciences. Saint Vincent’s four-year engineering science program, initiated just four years ago, has doubled the number of engineering students from 35 to 71. One of the floors of this new building will be devoted to that field. The facility will provide the space where students can work in teams with outstanding faculty to develop rigorous creative thinking so graduates, imbued with the liberal arts, can serve the world. Waynesburg University was recently named a national College of Distinction in recognition of its innovative application of high-impact educational practices. To be named a College of Distinction, schools must demonstrate results across the four distinctions, which include engaged students, great teaching, a vibrant community and successful outcomes. Schools are evaluated on key indicators including student engagement, student empowerment and curricular innovation. The annual process to select the nation’s Colleges of Distinction also includes a review of each institution’s freshman experience, general education program, strategic plan and alumni success and satisfaction measures.
