said, a study they conducted on training camp in 2015
showed that visitors come to the area from as many as 32

multiple days and nights,” she said. “They are shopping, eating,
visiting our attractions and spending between $100 and
$400 per day during their stay.”
The Westmoreland Mall also sees an increase in foot traffic
during training camp, marketing director Kristina Circell said.
“The camp also gives our tenants who offer sports-related
clothing and memorabilia the opportunity to showcase their
Steelers merchandise to shoppers who are actively looking
for it,” she said.
As for the Steelers, spokesman Burt Lauten said Saint Vincent
College is the perfect place to kick off the season.
“We appreciate the support the college has given us over
the years,” he said. “We also love that the community of Latrobe
supports the Pittsburgh Steelers during our time spent
in the area, and it is an amazing setting for our fans to enjoy
the up-close action of our practices as well as our players and
coaches interacting with them before and after practice.”
