Latrobe Art Center Gold Award Winner
Antique/Art Store
Thank you to our Trib Total Media Neighbors for selecting Latrobe Art Center
as the Quest for the Best “Antique/Art Store.”
We opened our doors on June 15, 2002. Our founders, Mrs. Nancy Rogers
Crozier and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Hazlett, had a vision to create an art
center in the heart of downtown Latrobe where local artists could exhibit
their work. Within 16 years, Latrobe Art Center has achieved that dream and
more, becoming a cornerstone of the community.
The Art Center is a place where experienced artists, beginners, and
art lovers can enjoy local original art by participating in a wide variety
of workshops, classes, lectures, events, and demonstrations taught by
local, regional, and nationally renowned artists.
Latrobe Art Center not only provides a welcoming atmosphere for adults
and children of all skill levels to grow their artistic talents and interests,
but also has several significant community outreach programs that touch
the lives of special populations and interface with other social service
organizations. The Art Center enjoys significant community support
through volunteers, membership, classes, gallery participants, and donors.
Our location in downtown Latrobe continues to play a vital role in the City’s
downtown revitalization project, especially with its family-friendly community
events throughout the year, such as Mister Rogers Family Day in June and
Holly Jolly in Downtown Latrobe in December.
In 2017 Latrobe Art Center was named the Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley
Chamber of Commerce’s Nonprofit of the Year. We’re also a part of the newly
created Fred Rogers Trail!
Latrobe Art Center is a place of renewed vitality and opportunity of growth
to all who participate. Thanks to the generous support of our neighbors,
foundations, and local and state grants we will continue to sustain,
strengthen, and advance our mission of encouraging and fostering individuals
to be creative and develop artistically.
