FAITH assisted by his son-in-law Dan Dicecca, the station manager for WJLW. Lauffer likes to think of GraceFM as a work in progress. The Calvary Chapel of Westmoreland County is in the process of building a larger studio. Lauffer also wants to bring in guest hosts, including both adults and young people from the Pittsburgh area. In addition, he would like to provide community service through his radio station. “I want to build bridges with differ-ent communities. We need to reach out to all people because that’s what makes America wonderful. We should under-stand and love one another, rather than be fearful or critical of someone who is different. I hope to interview guests such as mayors and county commis-sioners so we can find ways to help more people,” he said. Lauffer has also hinted at a few sur-prises that could be in store for listeners of his show. “I’m a classic rock fan and often wondered how musicians found their inspiration,” said Lauffer. “For in-stance, I’ve always been intrigued with Justin Hayward from the Moody Blues. His lyrics often talked about eternity and that had a big influence on me when I was a young guy. It would be interesting to interview musicians from the classic rock era and learn about their beliefs.” Feedback from listeners has been over-whelmingly positive and enthusiastic. Many people tell Lauffer that GraceFM has literally changed their lives. “We often hear from people who are struggling with a difficult problem, such as a divorce or substance abuse,” he said. “They are despairing and searching for an answer. If by God’s grace, some-one accidentally tunes into GraceFM, they are going to hear something that will help to transform their lives.” Westmoreland County has a special appeal for Clarke Lauffer and his wife Cindy, the church’s administrative sec-retary. “We live in Hempfield Township and love interacting with the town’s different ethnic groups,” said Lauffer, who has two married daughters and six grandchildren. “Not only is this a great place to raise a family, but it is also one of the most beautiful places in western Pennsylvania. I grew up in Irwin and was thrilled to have the opportunity to start a radio station right in my own backyard. I’m grateful to God for how everything has turned out.” 24/ 7 TEACHINGS Tune-in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to 100.3 FM and 97.9 FM in the Westmoreland County area or listen live online at www.graceradio.fm.
