RESPITE CARE
Western Pennsylvania options abound
Along with its rewards, caregiving also
comes with challenges, and everyone needs
a little help, as well as a little break, along
the way. In addition to private, more per-manent
caregiving assistance options, a
number of area organizations and agencies
offer respite care for family members who
want a night out, a break during the day
to run errands or even a stretch of days in
order to go on vacation.
The following is a list of just some of the
respite care options available to caregivers
in the Western Pennsylvania area.
To download Allegheny County’s
Caregiver Resource Guide, which includes a
comprehensive list of nursing homes
that provide respite, respite from home
health agencies and respite at adult day
centers across the region, visit
