Professional career-readiness:
Priority for Point Park students
Point Park University’s
Professional Career-Readiness
Center equips students with
skills and resources to enter
the professional world before
graduation.
Each student benefits from a
four-year program to create a
career path, which includes developing
professional skills, building
a network of connections and
successfully searching for internships
and jobs.
A key component of the center
is the growing cooperative
education program that helps
eligible students find temporary,
paid, full-time employment in
their fields and earn college
credits.
Some, such as Baylee
Zimmerman, ’18, have been
offered permanent jobs with
their co-op companies upon
graduation.
“I reached out to Jessica
Hobson, Point Park’s cooperative
education specialist in the
Professional Career-Readiness
Center, during the fall of my
senior year about options in my
field. … About halfway through
the completion of my co-op
program, I was offered a full-time
position with Flying Cork upon
graduation.”
