Every year, the Butler Farm
Show brings the best of the
local agricultural community
to the forefront for a fun-filled
week in August. This year, the
show’s 71st annual show will
be no exception, with many
different ways to enjoy the
summer before it’s over.
Running from Monday,
Aug. 5 to Saturday, Aug. 10,
the Butler Farm Show will be
filled with attractions, competitions,
demonstrations and
performances to delight all
members of the family.
Starting as a plowing competition
in 1947, the farm
show has grown into a six-day
event that spans more than
100 acres and attracts thousands
of attendees.
With competitions that
cover aspects of agricultural
and domestic life ranging
from livestock to crafts,
flowers to wine, photography
to quilting, the show attracts
competitors of all ages from
the surrounding areas to sell
their wares and win prizes.
These competitions are very
popular.
“Sunday, when they bring
their items to check in,
there’s always a big line. Two
buildings are always full,” said
Sandie Lefever, a marketing
spokesperson for the Butler
Farm Show. That means there
will be lots of local honey,
produce, art, jewelry and
baked goods to check out at
the Farm Show.
