Since then, its focus has been providing customers with fresh, top quality foods using tried and true family recipes. It carries everything from brand name items to locally grown produce. It all started when brothers Lewis and Stanley Safran bought the store. After several years, Stanley’s son, Lewis, became the owner of the business. In 2002, the store underwent major construction in order to provide customers with more conveniences. Now, it has many different grocery sections including a bakery, deli and a meat shop. This year, Safran’s won a Readers’ Choice Gold Award for Best Grocery Store and a Silver Award for Best Deli. Owners Lewis and Gwendolyn Safran would like to thank the community for making their supermarket award winning. “Our loyal customers are what make Safran’s so special and for that all of us here are very thankful,” says Gwendolyn. At the deli, there are many customer favorites such as the famous ‘take and bake pizza’ and homemade potato salad. In the meat department, customers can enjoy freshly ground meat, homemade sausage, hand cut USDA certified Angus beef and more. Customers appreciate the locally grown produce that Safran’s provides. Fresh fruits and vegetables are available when in season from local farmers. Aside from food, customers can always find fresh cut flowers and seasonal potted plants.
