Furniture Carpet adno=6445744 For Gene and Dorothy Miller, it was their dream to own their own furniture business. In doing so, they wanted to provide exceptional furniture along with great service. On Aug. 13, 1975, their dream came true, and the doors to Arnold Furniture opened. The original building offered about sixteen-hundred square feet of floor space.The showroom display was made up of four living room sets, two bedroom sets, two dinette sets and one dining room. Within six months of opening, Arnold Furniture was able to expand the showroom to four thousand square feet, due to an astonishing response from the community.Within two years of being open, a nearby building was vacant, and Arnold Furniture once again expanded to twenty-five thousand square feet with four floors of furniture. As the store continued to grow, Gene and Dorothy’s son and daughter—Michael and Lori— joined the business. Now the daughters of Michael and Lori—Elise Leach and Brittany Jones—have become the third generation of Millers working in the family business. Arnold Furniture has been serving the Allegheny- Kiski Valley for forty-two years. According to the Millers, they are excited to see what the future holds for Arnold Furniture now that the newer generation has joined the family business. “Winning the Trib Total Media Reader’s Choice Award for best place to buy furniture throughout the years is a great accomplishment,” Dorothy Miller said. Arnold Furniture features four floors of quality furniture and strives to supply customers with excellent furniture and unbeatable prices. When it comes to bedrooms and dining rooms, the store features Vaughn-Bassett, Liberty, Standard, Legacy and Amish-made items.
