Elliott Community Federal Credit Union Gold Award Winner
Best Credit Union - Westmoreland
Elliott Community Federal Credit Union has roots in Westmoreland County dating to 1935 and,
since then, has laid a strong foundation within the community. It is accredited by the National
Credit Union Administration.
This year, Elliott Community FCU is celebrating its ninth-consecutive Quest for the Best and
Reader’s Choice Gold Award for Best Credit Union in the Westmoreland region.
“It’s an honor,” said CEO James Benson. “You really should come see for yourself why we were
voted Best Credit Union, give us a try.”
The credit union, which has six branches across the region in Jeannette, Greensburg, Cranberry
and Murrysville, provides financial services to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends
school in Westmoreland County. And because Elliott Community FCU is member-owned, it
serves solely to benefit individuals in the community.
“We are here to help you with any problems,” Benson said. “We offer higher yields on savings
and lower loan rates. We want to help each member attain a strong and secure financial
future.”
Along with free checking and savings accounts, Elliott Community FCU provides everything
from vehicle loans to home equity loans, and even has a college student financial package to
help college/trade school students pave the way for financial stability throughout their higher
education. We also have a program geared towards children called (Leap Into Your Future) a
fun way to have your children get involved in their future savings accounts.
While Elliott Community FCU aims to make all its services mobile friendly, Benson, who has
been with the credit union for 20 years, said that what makes the credit union stand out is its
deep connection to its members in the region.
“There are so many people who still want to deal with an actual person,” he said. “It’s all about
one-on-one customer service. We haven’t given up on that.”
And when anyone steps into one of their branches, Benson said that Elliott Community FCU
wants to make sure they feel like family and at home.
“That’s our motto,” he said, explaining that many of their branches are actually old houses
converted into offices. We want to “Make Our House Your Financial Home.”

Trusting a brand to provide products and service that make you want to share life’s
big moments with it is no easy feat. However, Levin Furniture and Mattress would like
to express gratitude to their customers for doing just that and choosing Levin’s as the
Trib’s 2019 Quest for the Best- gold award for Best Furniture Store and silver award
for interior design.
“This is another exciting milestone for us. As we approach our 100-year anniversary,
it prides us to know that our customers have trusted us time and again to furnish their
homes and have done so for nearly 100 years,” said Levin’s executive vice president
and general manager Chris Pelcher.
In recent weeks, Levin’s has been gearing up for the upcoming holiday season,
sprucing up its showroom floors with fresh fall and winter accessories and
merchandise arriving in stores daily.
In fact, Levin’s merchant team has just returned from North Carolina after attending
the High Point Market, which is the world’s largest furnishing industry trade show, to
secure the best pieces to bring into showrooms as part of the 2020 line up before
anyone else.
“Our merchants travel the world to find new, interesting and stylish products that
they hope customers would love to add to their homes,” said Pelcher.
To further ensure customers are able to get exactly what they need to complement
the rest of their décor, Levin’s offers extensive special order options. With hundreds
of leather, upholstery, wood, finishes and hardware options, customers get the
opportunity to create a sense of personalization and customization to each piece.
If you just don’t have the knack for putting together and decorating a room, the
Decorating Studio at Levin’s affords customers the freedom to choose how much or
how little decorating assistance he or she wants by way of three package options.

most popular promotions of the year for our Black Friday Sale,” said Pelcher. “It really
should be one for the record books.”
Look for details within the next week on Levin’s annual holiday fundraiser for
Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. The proceeds from this in-store program are donated
to the Free Care Fund at their December telethon. In addition to this, Levin’s conducts
a “round up” program all year where customers can round up their purchase total
to the next dollar amount. That difference is donated to the Children’s Hospitals of
Pittsburgh and Akron.
“If it weren’t for the customers and communities who have stood by the brand for
the last century, we would not be where we are today,” Pelcher said. “We are truly
grateful for the support.”
