Gold Award Winner
Best College/University
7.4 million students over the age of 25
enrolled in colleges across the U.S. in fall
2019. Adult students earning bachelor’s
degrees - often referred to as “nontraditional
students” - represent a significant portion of
this student community.
At Seton Hill, adult students benefit from
a decidedly nontraditional educational
environment. Courses offered through
the University’s Adult Degree Program are
designed specifically for students who are
earning a degree while working or taking
care of a family (or both). Classes are
offered on-campus in the evening or online,
in convenient eight week sessions. Careerrelevant
bachelor’s degrees created for adult
students include a B.S. in Accounting, a
B.A. in Behavioral Health, a B.S. in Business
Administration (with specializations in human
resources, marketing and entrepreneurial
studies), a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a
B.S. in Healthcare Administration. Seton
Hill also offers adults the ability to “create
your own degree” through a flexible General
Studies option.
Students entering college as adults are often
worried that their math, writing or technology
skills aren’t exactly where they need to be.
Seton Hill offers personalized online and
on-campus assistance to adult students
through its Writing Center, Mathematics
Enrichment Center and Academic
Achievement Center. The University also
provides the software and technical support
needed to take courses online.
Many adult students have multiple demands
on their finances in addition to multiple
demands on their time. Seton Hill offers
special tuition pricing, scholarships,
employer reimbursement and a Preferred
Employer Program just for students in the
Adult Degree Program. Students can also
transfer up to 90 college credits to Seton
Hill. This, along with accelerated courses,
make it possible to earn most degrees
offered through the Adult Degree Program in
only one year. Assistance available for adult
students also includes state, federal and
private educational grants, scholarships and
loans; Federal Trade Act Benefits and military
benefits.
Most adult students are investing in a degree
to move forward in their careers. Seton
Hill’s nationally award-winning Career and
Professional Development Center offers
free services to all adult students. Through
the Center, students can get assistance
developing resumes and portfolios,
researching career opportunities, networking
with professionals in specific industries, and
preparing for job interviews. This service
remains available to all students after they
graduate as well. For more information on the
