34 · THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 2017 TRIB TOTAL MEDIA Gold Award—Best Home Health Care - East Allegheny Home Health Through “Total Quality Management,” Allegheny Home Health strives to maintain a commitment to excellence and accepts nothing less from its staff. This is one of the reasons Allegheny Home Health was voted as the 2017 Readers’ Choice Gold Medal winner for Best Home Health Care in the East region. What makes Allegheny Home Health different from other home health providers? The people. They subscribe to the philosophy that they are guests in your home and believe in treating you and your family with the respect and dignity that comes with being an invited guest. “We’ve gotten five-star home health ratings. We’re one of only two (home health companies) in the state to receive five-star ratings,” said Laura Blanchetti, community liaison for Allegheny Home Health. “Medicare is very rigorous in looking at the patients you take care of.” Allegheny Home Health’s experience in providing the finest home health care in the area has earned high marks with their patients, too. One of their home health providers, Deanna Eboli, from the Irwin area, works often with patients who have been discharged adno=6453692 from Hempfield Manor, a skilled-nursing facility in Greensburg. Once a patient is released from Hempfield Manor, Eboli steps into the picture, whether in the home setting or a personal-care facility. Deanna, RN Case Manager and Community Liason, has an extensive background in critical care and trauma burn nursing. Deanna spent many years atWest Penn Hospital’s burn trauma unit. While there, she gained many skills that can be applied in the home setting such as wound care, respiratory care, IV’s and other specialties that set her apart from other home health agencies. “When someone is handed off to me, I make sure that when the patient goes home, they have everything they need, not only nursing-wise but that rehab is set up and medication is taken care of,” Eboli said. “I make sure their home environment is safe and they have the resources they need to not end up back in the hospital.” Two of Eboli’s patients recently sent letters to Allegheny Home Health raving about her and the job she does. “They wanted us to know how much they appreciated her and all of her hard work,” Blanchetti said. “Deanna provides one-on-one support for these families. Allegheny Home Health is lucky to have such a compassionate, skilled nurse like Deanna.” Eboli understands that what a patient is going through also can also have a dramatic effect on their family members. “I try to make sure that I sit down and listen to what the family needs, not only the patient,” Eboli said. “On more than one occasion, I’ve had families tell me they want me to come over and sit down for Sunday family dinner with them. I try to make sure it’s not just about the patient, but the whole family.” Some of the services offered by Allegheny Home Health include Med-nurse medication management; orthopedic; cardiac; respiratory; post-hospitalization; diabetic education; wound care and dressings; Alzheimer’s, medication programs/education; home IV infusion; mental health; and physical, occupational and speech therapy. “Home health is supposed to be for people to recover,” Blanchetti said. “That’s what our company does.” Pictured: Deanna Eboli, Nurse, Allegheny Home Health and Bob McDowell, Ligonier, PA adno=6453310 Thank You for Voting Us The Best Home Health Care in East.
