The shop is one of several fundraising outlets St. Barnabas employs to provide the more than seven million dollars the fund raises every year. Proceeds from Beautiful Buys go directly to patients in need throughout the St. Barnabas Health System. The thrift shop is run by dedicated volunteers and is full of clothing, furniture and décor for people of all ages and tastes. Beautiful Buys identifies as a specialty thrift store because of the high quality of the items they receive, including collectibles. The quality goods are also affordably priced.The shop often runs extraordinary sales, such as their Valentine’s Day fill a bag for $25 sale, and up to fifty percent off brand-name furniture. The Damback Avenue location, namedThe General Store, was modeled like the old neighborhood stores of years gone. It includes many of the resale items available at Beautiful Buys but it also offers homemade soups, sauces, sandwiches, chocolates, coffee, snacks and many other grocery items.The store enjoys support from the surrounding community, and as with Beautiful Buys, the proceeds are directed to the Free Care Fund.
