Right here in Westmoreland County, 255 years ago,
a battle took place that changed the course of
American history.
Soon, that battle can be seen again, live and in person,
at the Bushy Run Battlefield. You’ll have the opportunity
to witness the history that was made in your own back-yard.
A re-enactment of the Battle of Bushy Run takes place
over two days, Saturday, Aug. 4, and Sunday, Aug. 5, and
is open to the public with many surrounding events and
activities.
The Battle of Bushy Run was a turning point in Pontiac’s
War, a campaign waged by Native Americans after the fall
of New France, when the British moved in to claim the
colonies.
