It used to be four-door sedans for Buick, but now it’s
only tall wagons. How times change. The largest and
most expensive is the Enclave, which receives a front
and rear makeover, the first refresh since the 2018
model year. Most noticeable is the redesigned grille
and headlights that add a greater sense of luxury. The
Enclave’s cabin also comes in for a few alterations,
including a new floor-console with pushbuttons
that replace the previous toggle-style transmission
shifter. New foam inserts in the seats are designed
for additional comfort. Eight-passenger seating is
standard, while second-row captain’s chairs are
optional. Unchanged is the 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6
that’s linked to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
All-wheel-drive is available on all three trims: Essence;
Premium; and Avenir. The system can shift rear-axle
torque to the outside wheel in a corner, which aids
turning (called torque vectoring). The Avenir gets
an abundance of upscale add-ons and active-safety
