2022 Infiniti QX55
Infiniti’s five-passenger QX50 utility vehicle is joined by
the QX55 hatchback, which is a “coupe” body style that
has become popular with other upscale brands. What
the QX55 gives up in cargo-carrying capacity over the
QX50, it makes up for in sharp styling. It also comes with
more standard content, including all-wheel-drive, which
is optional in the QX50. The interior has one screen for
the navigation system and one for the infotainment and
climate controls. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder
makes 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, but
the stout numbers only tell part of the story. Under a light
loads, mechanical cylinder compression increases to 14:1
to improve fuel efficiency. During more aggressive throttle
inputs, compression decreases to 8:1 so that additional
turbocharger boost (for more power) can be dialed in. The
engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission.
The trim levels consist of base Luxe, Essential and Sensory.
The latter comes with tri-zone climate control, navigation,
premium leather seat coverings (climate controlled in front)
