This four-seat tall wagon is the first of a number of
new electric vehicles that will wear the Cadillac crest.
The five-passenger Lyriq — about size of the XT5 tall
wagon — is built on a dedicated EV platform that will
underpin other General Motors electrics. Rear-wheeldrive
is standard and all-wheel-drive optional. The
four trim levels — Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport and
Platinum — will use GM’s 100.4-kilowatt-hour Ultiumbranded
battery pack. It’s claimed to use less rareearth
materials, which means a lower cost to produce.
The roof contains a fixed-panoramic glass surface
and a power-sliding shade. An elongated 33-inch highdefinition
screen extends the width of the dashboard
and shows all the necessary driver, communications,
infotainment and navigation information. The Lyriq will
come with a complete range of driver-assist features,
