The 2022 Range Rover is about as radical as it gets for Land
Rover, an automaker steeped in history and tradition. The
ultra-luxury flagship’s redesign starts with a new platform
and aluminum body panels that are cleanly shaped and
practically devoid of creases (the door handles are flushmounted.)
The leather-and-wood-trimmed interior is equally
clutter-free, with digital gauges plus a mid-dashboard
info-screen. For the first time, buyers can order a Long
Wheelbase Range Rover with eight more inches between
the front and rear wheels. It can accommodate seven
riders with the third-row-seat option. The base SE trim
arrives very well equipped with a sliding panoramic roof,
tri-zone climate control, power-adjustable 20-way front
seats and a 13.1-inch touch-screen. Air suspension and allwheel
steering are also standard as is a 395-horsepower
turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with a 48-volt
electric-motor assist. A BMW-supplied 523-horsepower
twin-turbo V-8 comes with the Autobiography and First
Edition models, as well as the top-trimmed SV. The latter
pampers its passengers with four-zone climate control,
