While not all provide the products of their labor directly to the community, there are still a number of options for purchasing fresh fruits, vegetables and meat from local providers. Acquiring locally sourced food has grown in popularity in recent years as consumers have become more interested in knowing where their food originates, how it’s grown and what types of chemicals and pesticides are used. The same goes for meat with people taking an interest in the use of hormones, the type of diet the animals eat and how they are raised.
